I had a few won-ton wrappers hanging around after making my totally amaz-balls Sriracha and Cream Cheese Wonton Bombs. Not enough of them to make another batch (drat!), but plenty to not want to waste them. While wondering what to do with them, a truly genius thought entered my noggin. Fill them with cheese. Everything filled with cheese has the potential to be glorious, and never more so that when that thing is fried.
Here’s what you’ll need. String cheese. Wonton wrappers. And hot oil to fry in.
Cut each string cheese into thirds. Like so.
Wrap the cheese into little envelopes of deliciousness.
Fry until golden. And you can’t stand looking at them anymore because all you want to do is dunk them in some marinara and celebrate the melty goodness.
Perfectly crisp outer shell. No dipping in breadcrumbs or batter. No mess. No muss. No fuss. Just easy perfection.
These little bites are sure to make your next party feel like your home has transformed into a fabulous…um…is there such a thing as a trendy pub? Because that’s the closest I can think of. Pub food. But completely hip and cool. Man I love cheese. The end.

I bet they’re better than ones covered in breadcrumbs. I can’t wait to try them.
