Perfect for any event. Especially festive ones. Themes make everything better.
I like to microwave the marshmallow creme for about 10 seconds. Makes it easier to stir. BUUUUUUUTTTT — they now have warning labels on the jar that you aren’t supposed to do such things. Maybe someone blew up their microwave because they didn’t get all the metal off the rim after pulling the seal off? Who knows. Microwave at your own risk.

Crispy Peanut Butter Balls
1 cup peanut butter
1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme
1 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal (rice krispies)
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips (or semisweet)
4 teaspoons shortening
1. In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter and marshmallow creme.
2. Add cereal and stir until well coated.
3. Roll cereal mixture into 1 inch balls, refrigerate until cold.
4. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and shortening. Microwave for 1-2 minutes until chips are almost all melted. Stir to melt final few chips. You can also use Wilton candy melts, or those beautiful Ghiradelli melting chocolate wafers. In which case, no shortening needed.
5. Dip in chocolate. Place on waxed paper-lined pan. Refrigerate until set.
