If you’ve been looking for a drink that will make you feel like a superhero, this is it. A drink to make you think you can leap tall buildings in a single bound (or at least lawn furniture). You’ll be partying at speeds faster than a speeding bullet and do push ups to show you’re more powerful than a locomotive.
My husband has a deep and abiding love for Superman. He wanted to name our first child “Alexander Remington” and call him Lex. As in Luthor. I once told him that if we ever had twins, we could name them Clark and Kent. Yes, that was a dangerous bet. But come on…what’s the likelihood of twin boys? I dodged that bullet on that one (maybe I am the last son of Krypton?), no twins for us. Plus, we had a girl the first go-round so I had a chance to convince him the Alexander idea was horrible before our son was born. I think Zack is still a little bitter about not getting a Superman theme named kid though.
Anyway, I created this drink for my beloved combining two of the classic Superman colors as well as a couple of his favorite alcohols. You’ll need a manly sized glass to hold this drink – and a man-of-steel tolerance to liquor. Remember, even if this drink makes you feel sky-high, you cannot fly. You. CANNOT. Fly.
Superman
2 ounces gin
2 ounces vodka
2 ounces pineapple juice
2 ounces orange juice
splash of peach schnapps
1 teaspoon grenadine
Combine gin, vodka, pineapple juice and orange juice in a shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled. Pour into an old fashioned glass half full of ice. Top with peach schnapps and grenadine.
Well now…..this sounds just pretty darn good! Think I’m gonna have to try it. Soon! LOVE ur Tom Collins recipe so I have gin on hand and probably vodka. Thanks for posting drink recipes. Keep it up!
