The dressing on this salad is out of this world. I wanted to eat it with a spoon. It is a little sweet and a little tangy and mixes perfectly with the richness of the feta and crisp sweetness of the pears. Fabulous!
I messed with the original recipe a bit because of family food issues, personal preferences and inability to find ingredients. The resulting salad was amazingly good. A perfect way to start off my dad’s special birthday dinner.

1 (10 ounce) bag mixed field greens
1/2 sliced red onion (optional)
1 Bosc pear, cored and sliced
1/2 cup chopped candied pecans
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
Directions
- Place the salad greens on your plate. Top with the red onion, pear, pecans, and feta cheese.
- To make the dressing, place the honey, vinegar, mayonnaise, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a food processor or blender, and blend thoroughly. With the motor running, slowly pour in the oil. Blend until mixture becomes creamy, about 1 minute. Pour over salad mixture. Serve immediately.
Heavenly! This is exactly what my husband and I would call a taste explosion! I cannot wait to try this soon! It is perfect for a hot summers evening starter here in Mauritius!
I am getting quite an arsenal of your recipes building up to enjoy!
